The Eastern front was the most brutal theater of World War II. The struggle lasted 4 years, claimed 28 million lives, and changed the map of Europe for 1/2 a century. This set is based on previously classified Soviet film archives, with incredible footage that illustrates the battles, the military decisions, the atrocities, and the gradual shift in power as the seemingly invincible German Army was finally stopped in Stalingrad and began its long, tortured withdrawal back to Berlin.
