Biographical note:
Axel Scheffler was born in Hamburg, Germany. At school he was good at art, but didn’t think of a career in illustration until he won a cuddly purple cow in a drawing competition. He moved to England in 1982 to learn English and to study illustration at the Bath Academy of Art. He has illustrated a number of books, including A Squash and a Squeeze, The Gruffalo, and Room on the Broom, all written by Julia Donaldson, as well as the popular Pip and Posy series. His books have been translated into forty-two languages. He lives in London with his partner and young daughter.

What do you get if you cross a pig with a turkey? Why, that would be a purkey! And a sheep with a rabbit? That would be a shabbit, of course! A very silly but absolutely compelling book that will charm the whole family.
