Recorded in 1988 at the Metropolitan Opera House, this recital captures the great tenor in his prime accompanied by Levine on the piano. As a special bonus, the CD includes Pavarotti and the Italian Tenor, filmed in his hometown of Modena. Pavarotti discusses and pays homage to his illustrious predecessors with archival footage of Caruso, Schipa, Gigli, and DeStefano, plus bonus songs from Pavarotti not in the recital. The DVD is presented in LPCM Stero and DTS 5.1 Surround Sound. Arias and songs included are by Mozart, Rossini, Bellini, Verdi, Massenet, Respighi, Flotow, Mascagni, Sibella, Denza, Puccini, and Tosti.
